The 'Castells' or Human Towers is a Catalan tradition recognized as World Heritage one where the 'Colles' build the spectacular human towers where every single detail is crucial.
This is part of our folklore and a unique tradition locally known as 'Castells'. A castell is a human tower built traditionally at festivals in Catalonia. At these festivals, several colles castelleres (teams that build towers) attempt to build and dismantle a tower's structure. On 16 November 2010, castells were declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.It is not only a spectacular tradition, but the prrof of the fact that team spirit is crucial for success.
