Description of the experience

The Garifuna ethnic group, also known as Afro-Caribbeans, have maintained their customs, music, traditions and ancestral gastronomy. From the heart of Honduras, our host Leticia offers us a significant sample of their gastronomy by preparing yuca cassava. You will witness how cassava, a thin and crunchy cake made from its flour, is made. You will learn about the method of elaboration from the plant tuber to the production of the cassava. But it all goes beyond that, as Leticia is an enterprising woman who has managed to commercialize this artisanal product... and she does it to an Afro-Caribbean rhythm, of course.

Meet your host: Leticia

I am proudly Garifuna Honduran from the coasts. I am a leader in the community where we organize ourselves to market our products such as cassava. For years we have been handcrafting these cassava products and we are in charge of selling them to support the family's livelihood.

How it works

The online experience will take place using the app ZOOM, that you'll need to have installed in the device you are using to join the online experience. You'll need to have a good Internet connection to be able to enjoy it with good quality. 

Once you have completed the purchase process you will receive an email with the link to access the online experience of your choice. Only one device will be allowed to join the experience per each purchased ticket.
