Description of the experience

We invite you to take a virtual journey through the Marimba music and traditional songs of the Colombian South Pacific. Enjoy their sounds while you learn about the instruments, the rhythms and the supernatural stories that surround these cultural expressions. Music and sound will be the vehicle to connect us with a whole tradition that lies in the jungles and rivers of the Pacific coast of Colombia.  In this experience we will enjoy and learn different traditional rhythms such as the Juga, El Bunde, El Bambuco Viejo, with typical songs that speak to nature, to the daily life of the Pacific, and also to love. There is no need to have previous experience in music to enjoy this cultural journey, so get excited and enjoy!

Meet your host: Adrian Sabolaga

I was born in Cali Colombia and raised in Bogotá. I am a passionate musician and have had the great honor of learning from many great Afro-Colombian minstrels of the Pacific.  Although I have been exploring the music and culture of the Pacific Coast for more than 15 years, I consider myself an eternal learner. I am passionate about creative processes and pedagogical development, I am sure that we all have to learn what we set out to learn in a proper, fun and creative way.

The online experience will take place online using the app ZOOM. You'll need to have a good Internet connection to be able to join with quality. You will need to get ZOOM installed in the device you are using to join the online experience.

Once you have completed the purchase process you will receive an email with the link to access the online experience of your choice. Only one device will be allowed to join the experience per each purchased ticket.
